Davie's two biggest dates this fall happen in the same arena, three weeks apart, for very different crowds. On Saturday, October 24, Bergeron Rodeo Grounds hosts a free town morning where children, families and horses all enter costume contests. From November 13 to 15, the same grounds host the PRCA Southeastern Circuit Finals Rodeo, the championship of a circuit that covers nine states. The rest of the season's calendar is built around those two weekends. That includes a car show, a walking tour, a free movie night, and new spots to eat on Stirling Road and University Drive.
Here's the season in order, with the dates, prices and gate times you'll need.
October 24: The Costume Contest With a Horse Category
The Town of Davie's Halloween Happenings and Police and Fire Rescue Trunk-or-Treat runs Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bergeron Rodeo Grounds, 4201 Rodeo Way. Admission is free. The Town's announcement lists costume contests, live performances, train rides, inflatable rides and a DJ. Local businesses will run booths, and food and drinks will be sold on site.
Davie Police and Fire Rescue are bringing their Trunk-or-Treat into the same event. Kids can collect candy from decorated public safety vehicles and enter prize raffles, and visitors vote for their favorite vehicle.
From the Town's release:
"The annual costume contest is open to families, children and horses."
The horse contest starts first, at 11:15 a.m., and horse entries must pre-register by calling 954-797-2059. The family and child contests start at 11:30 a.m. Registration for those closes at 11 a.m., so families who want to compete should arrive early. For other questions, the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Department is at 954-797-1181.
The Next Morning, Hot Rods at Old Davie School
On Sunday, October 25, the event moves from the arena to the Old Davie School Historical Museum at 6650 Griffin Road. The museum's free Haunted Hot Rods Car Show runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with music, food, prizes and a raffle. Details and registration are on the Old Davie School Foundation's event page.
If you'll be driving to either weekend event, check the road schedule first. A Florida Department of Transportation update the Town posted on October 15 says closures for state highway construction and maintenance are expected through October 29. That covers the SR 84/I-595 resurfacing corridor, including overnight closures on I-595 near Davie Road and at the University Drive entrance ramp. The same Town traffic notice warns of possible overnight northbound lane closures on University Drive. They run from south of SW 24th Street/Nova Drive to the I-595 entrance ramp, as needed. FDOT notes that weather can change the schedule.
What Opened Between the Two Weekends
After the car show, the calendar is quiet until rodeo weekend. Several places have opened since spring, though, and two of them are next door to each other on Stirling Road.
- Southern Luv BBQ, 6819 Stirling Road. This is the brand's first Broward County restaurant. It opened in soft-opening mode, serving daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and scheduled its grand opening for Friday, October 16. The restaurant's announcement lists pecan-smoked brisket and pulled pork, St. Louis ribs, loaded mac bowls and a Cuban. The Davie menu adds flatbreads, desserts and a Lil Luv kids meal. Dine-in, takeout, delivery and catering are all available, and the phone number is (954) 685-8081.
- Wing Snob, 6815 Stirling Road. The chain's Davie location page shows daily hours and online ordering. In August, Business Debut reported that the shop was expected to open around August 20 after delays.
- Chef Reece Kitchen, 4196 S. University Drive. Business Debut reported that the Jamaican fusion restaurant was moving from 5187 S. University Drive, and its website says it reopened at the larger space on March 5, 2026.
- The Golf Vault, 4900 S. University Drive, Suite 205. The indoor golf venue held a Town-noticed grand opening ribbon cutting in September. Its website advertises half-price bays all October, so as of Thursday, October 22, there are about nine days left on the offer.
What the Southeastern Circuit Finals Decides
The November weekend at Bergeron is a regional championship. The PRCA's Southeastern Circuit covers Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi. The contestants have spent the season earning their way in.
Under the PRCA's rules, contestants must designate the circuit and meet its participation requirement. They also have to finish inside the circuit standings cutoff for the event's field size. In the PRCA's 2025 table, the Southeastern circuit's participation requirement was 15 rodeos for residents and 31 for nonresidents. Circuits can set fields of 10, 12 or 15 contestants per event. For team ropers, a Team Roping Journal explainer on the 2025 season said the top 12 by money won qualify, as long as they meet the circuit's rodeo-count rules.
There's a next step for the winners, too. The Cowboy Channel's recap of the 2022 finals reported contestants earning NFR Open berths in Davie. According to Davie Pro Rodeo, Troy Weekley has produced the Southeastern Circuit Finals since 2009.
Ticket Prices Go Up on November 9
The finals run Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, November 15 at 2 p.m. The ticket system lists gates opening at 6 p.m. for the two evening shows and at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Prices rise at 7 a.m. on Monday, November 9, four days before opening night. Here are the tiers from the Davie Pro Rodeo ticket page:
| Ticket | Before 7 a.m. Mon., Nov. 9 | From 7 a.m. Mon., Nov. 9 |
|---|---|---|
| Adult, 13 and older | $32 | $35 |
| Child, 3 to 12 | $12 | $15 |
| VIP, reserved chairback seat with food and drinks | $100 | $100 |
| Children 2 and under | Free | Free |
For a family of two adults and two children, waiting past the deadline adds $12 to the bill.
Buy tickets only through the authorized sellers. The producer says it does not accept third-party tickets, and buyers holding them will not be let in. It also warns against buying from people commenting on its Facebook page. The authorized options are online through Complete Ticket Solutions, by phone at 754-816-3183, or at Grif's Western, the listed discount ticket outlet. Some Town FAQ pages still show older, lower rodeo prices. The producer's ticket page above has this year's prices.
Friday, November 13 Has Two Good Answers
The finals open the same night as the Town's free Movies in the Park screening of Disney's Toy Story 5. The movie plays at the Bamford Sports Complex, 3801 S. Pine Island Road, on the Padre and Mariner fields. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the film starts at 7 p.m. The Town's Movies in the Park announcement says seating is first come, first served. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. Two Men and a Truck sponsors free popcorn, and parking is free off the main Pine Island Road entrance. The Town notes that movie dates and times can change.
Both venues open their gates at 6 p.m., and their start times are half an hour apart, so most households will pick one. You don't have to choose for the whole weekend, though. The rodeo also runs Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, and the movie series comes back December 18 with Christmas Chronicles 2.
Here's one way to fit in all three days:
- Friday, November 13. Toy Story 5 at Bamford, gates at 6 p.m.
- Saturday, November 14, morning. The Historic Davie Walking Tour, a one-mile loop from Old Davie School at 6650 Griffin Road, runs 10 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $12 to $15 through the Old Davie School Foundation.
- Saturday, November 14, evening. Circuit Finals at Bergeron, gates at 6 p.m., performance at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, November 15. The final performance at 2 p.m., gates at 12:30 p.m.
If you go to the rodeo on Saturday, you'll be in the same arena where horses entered the costume contest three weeks earlier. The Orange Blossom Festival Rodeo returns there February 27–28, 2027.
